The following three essays are intended for reference and the information in them is very closely drawn from Tolkien's own writings. All were initially written as resource essays for the Members section of the Henneth Annûn Story Archive. Most of the persons, places, and some of the events referred to are the property of the Tolkien Estate. I write solely in admiration, with no intention of intellectual theft, and I profit from this in no way, shape, or form. These essays are in no way intended to substitute for a reading of the original works from which they are derived.

- Slash Fanfiction: A Personal Essay: This is a non-scholarly essay that describes what slash fanfic is, and various comments and personal reactions on the reading and writing thereof.
- Some Thoughts on Writing Fanfic: A primarily autobiographical sketch of my approach to fanfic writing and participation in three fandoms through writing.
