Three years...
Three years of my life I have spent in and around this place. On some occassions, especially early on, I was very prolific. Nowadays I lurk and read having little of the time I once did. But no matter the capacity of my visits, TORN was and continues to be something very special and amazing to me.
Roheryn's post of Widfara's sentiments about TORN is one we should all take to heart, for Widfara spoke truth. This IS a special place, filled with special people. We have all lucked out in finding our way here through the vastness of cyberspace. Lucked out in meeting each other. More than a message board, or even a community, TORN is a family, a home and a haven. A place where we come together and talk, laugh, sing, dance, "drink", debate and support each other as "siblings" and peers.
And now we even mourn with each other.
As far as I can recall in my time here, nothing of this sort has happened to TORN before, where we have truely lost one of our own. And here I sit amazed once more and humbled by the fact that I can count myself a part of this special place. I read in awe the outpouring today for someone we have never met and only knew through written words, and I feel a sense of pride. It's a wonderful feeling and something that we all should celebrate.
So I toast you all, TORNadoes, old-timers and the new, for we all make up something in my eyes as a special and singular thing.
TORN.
The bar is open, so help yourelves and raise a glass for Widfara and TORN. May we never forget what we shared with her and continue to share with each other.

TORn is an amazing place, and today's outpouring of grief and sympathy is the most heartfelt and touching example of the sense of community here that I've seen yet (and, actually, that I hope I ever have to see).
I posted some weeks ago that I was having a rough time, and I was deeply touched by the incredibly caring and thoughtful responses. Wíd was among those, and she told me "Courage, my friend Ro." I'll never forget her words, and I hold them close to my heart now as I try to comprehend this loss.

TORn has been a place that has brought me joy: the people here have made me laugh and made me think and sometimes made me cry. But never did I expect to feel what I am feeling now. More than any website I've ever seen--or imagined--this one has a real since of community.
Too often people view the internet as cold and impersonal, but the outpouring of feeling for Widfara--from all of us, all over the world--shows how warm, inviting, and lasting the relationships here truly are.

I haven't had the chance to participate in her SAST quizzes which significantly made our TORn board what it is... TORn sibs getting together and having a lot of fun answering questions, getting their grades, thanking Widfara for such a wonderful quiz -- she really made TORn a much more special place to be.
