Today we finished blocking the last scene of "The Diary of Anne Frank" and those final words from Mr. Frank just seem rather appropriate.
I just got home from school about 45 minutes ago. I checked the boards and my stomach dropped. One mention of the word "Wid" and it churned: wasn't someone looking for her last night?
I feel so sad for those who knew her. I feel so sad for those of us who didn't, but weep for her anyhow. Dear Lord, have mercy. Mother Mary, pray for us and for our friend.
Mrs. Boromir, or someone else -- could you re-post the news for those who, like me, weren't here when it broke? And is there someplace we could send donations? You may be sure that I will be requesting prayers in all of my classes tomorrow, and I will also see if I can't have the daily Mass celebrated Thursday also dedicated.
This is a tragedy for all of us. We have lost a member of our family today, however you count it. May we learn from this, and may our friendships strengthen. Peace be with all of you, and peace on our dear Robin's soul.

This tragedy has made me realize that you guys really are my best friends. I can't connect or find a common ground with anyone (even the people I've know since Pre-K) like I can connect with all of you.
I only heard about this tragedy about an hour or two ago. It really got me thinking that without all of you, I probably would not have any friends at all. Even though I barely knew Widfara, when I heard about her death I started crying. Even my own mom and brother don't quite understand how it feels to have a family like you all are to me and to loose someone from that family, even if you weren't exactly close.
All of us will miss Widfara. I'll keep her and her family in my prayers.

For a couple of hours some of us had hope that it was a vile, sick joke - but, to our horror, it wasn’t. Mrs. Boromir was able to give us information - the link to her post is below. (Thank you again, Mrs B - I’ll be e-mailing you in about two minutes.)
I’ve taken up a collection for flowers for her - if anyone would like to contribute (any amount you feel comfortable with), I just upgraded my Paypal account to accept credit cards; the account is under my e-mail address, [].
If you haven’t used Paypal, this is about how it works: You would have to log in, using your e-mail address and creating a password; if you have an account set up, you can transfer funds from your bank to Paypal, or, with the upgrade, use your credit card; what I will receive is notification that someone has deposited money into my account. The confirmation will have your e-mail address and real name on it; I know that is beyond the comfort level of a lot of us, and with good reason - but if it makes you feel any better you'll also have my name and e-mail address. No credit card or bank information changes hands whatsoever; Ebay just bought out Paypal, and it's one of the most used method of payment. The memorial service is Thursday, so I would like to order these tomorrow afternoon (EST).

I was asked to repost this news, which I learned of late last night. My heart goes out to her international friends who may just be venturing onto the boards and seeing the news for the first time. My heart goes out to all of us!
It is with great sorrow that I must confirm the tragic news you may have read about earlier this morning. Our Wídfara, Robin in her real life, died yesterday morning. I had thought her family wished to keep the details of her death private, and knowing Wídfara, she would not have wanted us to dwell on it. It was her friend Pat who posted the messages you saw earlier.
Robin and I became friends through TORN last spring and have developed a friendship via email ever since. I will forever remember her as one of the most positive, generous and humorous persons I’ve ever known. I know this news comes as a shock, as she was friends with many of us on the boards, well-regarded for her gentle but sometimes biting wit, and well-loved for her kindness and generosity. These paltry words do not do her memory justice, but I know she’d forgive me. I feel honored to have been considered her friend, and I shall miss her more than I can say. Bless your heart, Wídfara of Rohan.

At my new home downtown, I don't have a computer and therefore no internet. Imagine my shock and horror to check my email at work and find out the sad news about Widfara. Sitting there, with the rain streaming outside the windows, it really made me want to just go home (to parent's house) and check TORN. To my delight, there was many many wonderfult tribute posts and memorials posts to Widfara, which was just beautiful. I knew that the TORN community would not run over a member's passing without the wonderful sentiments of a family.
Widfara, we'll miss you. I hope you are now at peace.

but I find myself crying that she has gone and at the love that everyone has for her. I remember her being funny and I always regretted that her quizzes were too far down the board to reply to by the time I got there. May she rest in peace and her family find comfort in these sad times.

I really can't wrap my mind around this right now. I just can't believe it.
I didn't know Widfara nearly as well as I would have liked, but I always thought her an incredible person. Compassionate, witty and caring. I don't think I ever read a post of hers that didn't bring a smile to my face. I will sorely miss her.

I can't believe it. I must admit I didn't know her that well, but I still loved what I did happen to hear from her. She was always so intelligent, and caring-the first one to help. My heart goes out you and everyone affected.

First time I've had a chance to check in here all day--and I was actually angry at myself that I'd missed SAST. Such a bright spot in my day. Wid's humor and wit...always such a bright spot in my day, even when I didn't have time to tell her that...
I'm at a loss for fitting words. I'm just profoundly sad for Wid, for her loved ones and for all of us. I'm grieved that in a final moment, any human soul could feel so desperate, that life, precious life, was not worth living.

I am saddened by the terrible loss to the community, and I want to express my support. This is such a rare and caring group.
I never got the chance to know Widfara, on TORn or off, but I have more than one friend who has dealt with severe depression. Each is a wonderful person, as I'm sure she was.
Please, anyone who is or thinks he/she may be suffering from depression, don't be afraid to seek help -- from a doctor, from a friend, from family. No matter how bad you think it is, there *are* people who care about you and love you, whose lives you touch in ways you might not imagine.
That is all I will say.

I have been gone for quite a while and just popped in to see what's happening. Well I see a lot has happened ='(
I have cried almost an hour reading about Wíd and listening to the soundtrack, especially tracks 14 and 17 as they seem very fitting in the situation.
I am quite new poster but even when lurking I loved Wíd's messages. I wish we had still more coming.
I will miss her! ='(
I wonder if I'll get fired for only crying and not working at all, but I think it is more important for me (and to all of us) to let the tears come.

I'm a bit elfish, I suppose. I love the analogy to stars.
It reminds me of one of the monsignors at our parish: "My dears, I look out and I see all of you, brilliant! You shine out like little stars, each and every one! And yet, sometimes you cannot see it. Remember always, my dears, that you are a special and beautiful creation, burning like a light that all the angels can see. You are sacred, little ones; remember that."
