Sad News ... Skybly ... 10.23-06:53 As I just heard today, our fellow fanclub member Wídfara took her life on Monday morning. I don't know how many of you knew her, since she didn't post here often, but she was a much-loved member of the theonering.net message boards. It was her who encouraged Ringers to send "Get Well" messages to Jeffrey Hawkes (the injured hobbit extra, as those who were here in May might remember), and we worked together on getting the giant list of well wishes to him.
I remember her as a kind person, full of humour, and I wish I could have known her better. She will be sorely missed.

as someone who has been on the brink myself, all I can offer is that her pain and lonelyness must have been such that she truly could not see any other way.

Erhithiel ... 10.23-13:04 You know that with as large a community as we have, that there will be births, there will be weddings, divorces, and sadly, we will have death visit us as well...but it makes the heart ache to have one our own leave us, in so sad a way...no matter if she was not well known to many of us here, she still was one of us...and I miss her all the same. That is a true tragedy... ... Sarumann ... 10.23-14:06 I never had the privilege of knowing Widfara personally, but I was not unfamiliar with the name. It is always a tragedy when a person takes their life. It leaves many unanswered questions. The hardest question without an answer is: "What could have been done to prevent this that wasn't done?"
I am a person who once felt lonely, afraid, and helpless enough to consider the same end, and to hear that one of us had done just that breaks my heart. All of my thoughts go out to her, her family, her friends, and those of us in this community who had the chance to know her.

What sad news, I do not know the name Widfara but ... thegreenwood ... 10.23-14:16 have known what it feels to fight thoughts of this course of action from the blackness. I wish I had had the chance to know this fellow fan better. I hope that everyone in this community recognises the support and love we have for one another and can take some strength and hope from this positive group. My thoughts are with the family and friends who will miss her.
